Please Remember The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Foundation on Giving Tuesday, November 29

With the season of gift giving upon us, we hope you consider a gift to the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Foundation (OPPF).  Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

In 2017, OPPF is working to secure resources to expand efforts to recruit medical students to psychiatry and to advocate for growth of psychiatry residency positions. Recruiting medical students to choose a psychiatry residency is a signature program of your Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Foundation (OPPF). In the last 4 years, over 100 Ohio medical students have attended the OPPA Annual Psychiatric Educational update. The OPPF recruited sponsors and psychiatrist mentors; then identified interested medical students to attend the conference. This successful program has seen that over 70% of the medical students who attended and graduated have chosen a residency in psychiatry!
