Nov 2015 PCSS Update - MAT gaining acceptance

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is seeing a surge of attention among lawmakers and policy makers both at a federal and local level, but according to the National Council for Behavioral Health (NCBH), specialty behavioral health has not kept up with the need. For example, of the 2.5 million Americans 12 years and older who used or were dependent on opioids, less than half received MAT.
