Ohio's efforts to transition from a 10-digit National Suicide Lifeline number to 988
To be implemented by July 16, 2022
Federal legislation requires all states to transition from a 10-digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number to 988 by July 16, 2022. In Ohio, a diverse group of interested stakeholders has met over the past year as the 988 Planning Committee to develop a roadmap for how 988 will help build awareness of an easy-to-remember, visible entry point into the crisis care system for people affected by suicide, mental health and addiction issues.
