APA continues to address concerns related to MOC
To help educate members about Maintenance of Certification (MOC), the American Psychiatric Association created a webpage that outlines the APA’s role in MOC.
While the APA does not have the authority to ban or stop MOC, the APA is continually working on behalf of members to reform Maintenance of Certification, advocate against additional requirements, ensure requirements are relevant to psychiatric practices and establish a fair process for psychiatrists who demonstrate meaningful learning and improvement.
In addition to MOC advocacy, the APA produces and constantly updates resources to assist members in meeting MOC requirements, including:
- A webpage dedicated to meeting MOC requirements
- A Psychiatrist’s Guide to MOC
