Ohio National Guard healthcare provider orientation flight announced
The Ohio National Guard is inviting psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to apply for consideration in the 2016 Ohio National Guard Healthcare Provider Orientation to be held at Rickenbacker Air National Guard base in Columbus on Thursday, July 14.
The purpose of this flight is to familiarize providers with the role and missions of the Ohio National Guard and to build awareness that we need and appreciate Ohio's healthcare providers caring for TRICARE beneficiaries.
Ideal candidates include civilian physicians/residents who practice family medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology, optometry, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, radiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry; independently licensed behavior health providers; and hospital administrators in Ohio.
On that day, attendees will observe an in-air refueling of a military aircraft, visit with Airmen and meet Soldiers explaining the use of Army military equipment such as Special Forces weapons and a Black Hawk helicopter on static display. Please view the short you tube video to more fully appreciate this experience.
Unfortunately, the ONG is not able to accommodate persons with mobility restrictions. In addition, all candidates will be asked to provide some medical history to screen for conditions that could be disqualifying.
To be considered, please submit a nomination HERE as soon as possible but no later than March 1, 2016.
