Source:  Office of Health Transformation

On Monday, Governor Kasich released his Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Executive Budget, which builds on the progress made since 2011 to strengthen Ohio’s economy and promote job creation. The Executive Budget will continue to improve the state’s jobs-friendly climate, help Ohioans better prepare for careers and college, embrace state government’s use of technology, innovate our state’s transportation systems, and continue to emphasize the need to support our most vulnerable Ohioans.

Under Governor Kasich’s leadership, Ohio has been recognized nationally for implementing transformative health care policies that have helped to reduce costs, improve health outcomes and strengthen care coordination. The Executive Budget continues to embrace fiscally responsible and innovative reforms that build on the progress made since 2011 so Ohioans can live healthier, more productive lives, and our state’s economy has the healthy workforce needed to grow stronger.

Isn't the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association apolitical. What's all this rah rah for Kasich. He cut funds for school districts and some districts are in bad financial trouble Psychiatrists strongly advocate for education and strong public education for all.

Hello Dr. Zinn,

Thank you for your comment. I can assure you the OPPA is bipartisan when it comes to politics. Through the efforts of the OPPA Government Relations Committee, the OPPA Council, our contract lobbyist and me as executive director, we advocate on behalf of psychiatrists and the patients for whom they care, particularly as it relates to access, treatment and coverage/reimbursement.

The two write-ups about Governor Kasich's state budget were simply posted for information, as articles first published from two other news sources: the Ohio Office of Health Transformation and The Center for Community Solutions. They were not meant to be an endorsement by the OPPA of Governor Kasich.

We very much appreciate your concerns and appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Please feel free to contact me directly at anytime.

Best regards,

Janet Shaw
Executive Director
